Top Off-Field Supports in Genshin Impact

One of the best lessons I learned in Genshin Impact is this: you don’t always need your damage dealer on the field to win. Off-field supports are the glue that makes every team click. They deal damage while you’re swapping, they keep reactions running, they feed energy. And honestly? They’re the reason Abyss clears feel possible.

Top 10 Off-Field Supports You Should Build First in Genshin Impact

1. Xingqiu – the Hydro blade machine

  • Why he’s worth it

2. Xiangling – free Pyronado, free DPS

  • Quick tip

3. Fischl – Oz the background carry

  • Why build her

4. Beidou – chain lightning queen

  • My fix

5. Albedo – the lazy geo sub-DPS

6. Yelan – the 5-star Xingqiu upgrade

7. Kazuha – swirl and shred

8. Sucrose – budget Kazuha but still cracked

9. Diona – shield, heal, battery

10. Rosaria – sneak crit support

Top 10 Off-Field Supports You Should Build First in Genshin Impact

One of the best lessons I learned in Genshin Impact is this: you don’t always need your damage dealer on the field to win. Off-field supports are the glue that makes every team click. They deal damage while you’re swapping, they keep reactions running, they feed energy. And honestly? They’re the reason Abyss clears feel possible.

I wasted weeks farming wrong characters and even used some Genshin Impact crystal refreshes on builds that didn’t carry. If I could go back, I’d build these supports first. Here are the 10 I think every player should prioritize.

1. Xingqiu – the Hydro blade machine

Xingqiu is still insane. His Rain Swords apply Hydro off-field, trigger Vaporize, and keep your main DPS alive. I built him late and regret it. With just 160% ER and a Sacrificial Sword, he never leaves my teams.

Why he’s worth it

  • Hydro application nonstop.
  • Damage reduction + healing baked in.
  • Synergy with Pyro carries like Xiangling.

Even if you don’t buy crystal to speed farm, Xingqiu makes every team better immediately.

2. Xiangling – free Pyronado, free DPS

Yeah, she’s free from Abyss floor 3, and yeah, she’s still broken. Pyronado snapshots Bennett’s buff and spins for insane damage. I ignored her for months thinking “she’s just a 4-star.” Big mistake.

Quick tip

  • Needs ER (170–180%).
  • Works best with Bennett.
  • Even with mid artifacts, she shreds.

If you refresh with Genshin Impact crystal, do it for her Emblem set. She’s worth the grind.

3. Fischl – Oz the background carry

Drop Oz, switch out, profit. Fischl feeds particles, does Electro damage, and enables reactions all while standing off-field. She was my sleeper MVP in multiple Abyss clears.

Why build her

  • Constant Electro for reactions.
  • Scales well even on budget builds.
  • Flexible — works in Taser, Aggravate, Overload comps.

Cheap to build, and you don’t even need to buy crystal for her to feel strong.

4. Beidou – chain lightning queen

Beidou’s Burst feels like fireworks. With enough ER, she melts mobs with bouncing Electro damage. The problem? She’s ER hungry, so farming for her is pain.

My fix

I caved and used some buy crystal refreshes for Emblem pieces just to make her smoother. Worth it. Pair her with Xingqiu and you’ll see why people still love “Electro-charged soup” teams.

5. Albedo – the lazy geo sub-DPS

Albedo is controversial, but I like him. Drop the flower, forget about him, and he ticks damage every second. In a game where rotations are tight, that passive damage adds up.

Not meta-breaking, but for low-stress teams he’s amazing. Build once, leave him alone. No endless Genshin Impact crystal farming required.

6. Yelan – the 5-star Xingqiu upgrade

Yelan works like Xingqiu but faster, flashier, and with damage scaling that’s insane. I built her after losing a 50/50 and ngl, I don’t regret it.

She’s resin hungry though — so if you plan to buy crystal to farm faster, she’s one of the best investments.

7. Kazuha – swirl and shred

Okay, Kazuha isn’t “just” off-field support, but his Burst is. Drop it, swirl, and watch numbers double. His EM snapshotting makes him one of the most broken units in Genshin Impact.

If you ever decide to use Genshin Impact crystal refreshes for farming, prioritize his VV set. It boosts your whole team.

8. Sucrose – budget Kazuha but still cracked

People clown on Sucrose for being “discount Kazuha,” but she’s nuts. Swirls, shreds, boosts EM, batteries your team. For a 4-star, she’s insane value.

I honestly should’ve built her earlier instead of wasting Resin on random DPS. She doesn’t even need expensive farming. No buy crystal necessary here.

9. Diona – shield, heal, battery

Diona isn’t flashy, but she makes teams work. She batteries Cryo units, heals, and shields at the same time. She saved my Ayaka team more than once.

ER is her lifeline though — without enough, her Burst downtime feels awful. That’s when I justified spending some Genshin Impact crystal Resin refreshes for more pieces.

10. Rosaria – sneak crit support

Rosaria is slept on. She drops Burst, gives Cryo application, and even buffs your CRIT Rate. In freeze teams, she’s actually underrated.

Not top tier, but easy to gear, and her Burst snapshotting feels great when timed with buffs. Another case where timing matters more than farming.

Final thoughts

If I could restart Genshin Impact, I’d build these off-field supports first. They carry your account harder than flashy DPS ever will. Xingqiu, Xiangling, Fischl — they turn average teams into Abyss-clearing monsters.

I wasted Resin chasing DPS artifacts, even used Genshin Impact crystal refreshes for stats that didn’t matter. Once I focused on these units, everything got smoother.

So yeah, don’t overthink it. Build them, balance ER, lock in buffs, and enjoy free DPS. And if you’re tired of endless farming? Honestly, I stick with mas4games — it’s been the easiest way to keep my Genshin Impact account growing without losing my sanity.
