When I finally built him (yeah, I’ll admit I dropped some Genshin Impact crystal to rush him), my Abyss runs changed completely. Floor 12 used to make me sweat; suddenly it was smoother, faster, and less stressful. His grouping is just cleaner than Sucrose’s, especially against bigger mobs.

But… he’s a 5-star. If you didn’t pull him, you’re stuck waiting months. That’s the frustrating part.

Sucrose – the underdog

Now, don’t sleep on Sucrose. She doesn’t have Kazuha’s style, but she shares Elemental Mastery with the whole team. And if your comp relies on reactions (Hu Tao + Xingqiu, for example), that buff is ridiculous.

I remember trying Hu Tao without her, then swapping her in. The difference in Vaporize damage was night and day. And she’s so easy to get compared to Kazuha. No banner stress, no praying to RNG, she just… shows up eventually. Even with little investment, she performs. And if you give her some love (good artifacts, maybe a buy crystal shortcut to boost her build), she scales like crazy.

Who actually wins?

Honestly? Depends on what you want.

• Want smooth rotations, big buffs, reliable crowd control? Go Kazuha.
• Want cheap, easy to build, strong reaction scaling? Go Sucrose.

Sometimes I swap them out depending on the Abyss floor. Floor with mobs? Kazuha feels better. Boss fight? Sucrose can pump out higher reaction damage. Both work.

My take after playing both

I keep both built. Some days I just feel like playing Kazuha because he’s stylish. Other days I throw in Sucrose because she’s simple and effective. That’s the beauty of Genshin Impact — there’s no single answer.

If you’re a new player or don’t want to wait for banners, Sucrose is more than enough. If you’ve got Kazuha, build him — he’s too good not to. Either way, both make VV shine, and both are worth using your resources on.
