Arlecchino Math in Genshin Impact: CRIT, ATK, ER — What Actually Wins

Arlecchino shows up in Genshin Impact, and suddenly everybody becomes a calculator. CRIT charts everywhere, ATK% formulas, Energy Recharge spreadsheets… I couldn’t take it anymore. Instead of drowning in numbers, I just built her myself. And let me be honest: the answer isn’t “stack one stat and win.” It’s ugly. It’s balance.

CRIT in Genshin Impact: Fun, flashy, kinda disappointing

The first thing I did was stack CRIT. Of course. Who doesn’t want to see golden numbers filling the screen? At one point I had something like 80% CRIT Rate and 160% CRIT DMG. Looked amazing on screenshots. But when I actually played her in Abyss… it sucked. Her Burst was always late, her damage windows felt empty, and I was just waiting around.

What went wrong with CRIT only

• CRIT multiplies what you already have. If your ATK is low, it multiplies… nothing.
• Overcapping CRIT Rate looks sexy but costs you real stats.
• No ER? Congrats, your Burst is offline half the fight.

I even threw in some Genshin Impact crystal refreshes to farm “better CRIT pieces.” Didn’t fix it. She looked strong on paper but felt weak in practice.

ATK% in Genshin Impact: boring, but it actually works

So I gave up on pure CRIT and slapped on ATK% Sands. And suddenly she felt playable. Every hit had weight, not just the lucky crits. Consistency matters more than screenshots, and ATK is what gives you that.

The lesson I learned the hard way

• ATK sets the floor, CRIT just raises the ceiling.
• Without ATK, even the fattest crits feel like noodles.
• If you’re gonna buy crystal to speed-farm, don’t waste it on chasing perfect CRIT rolls before you’ve got ATK handled.

It’s boring, sure, but ATK made her kit click way more than blind crit-stacking ever did.

ER in Genshin Impact: the “whatever” stat that saved me

I ignored Energy Recharge. I mean, she’s a DPS — why should I care, right? Then I ran Abyss with ~100% ER and realized her Burst was basically never ready. Rotations were scuffed, my team felt awful, and I started questioning the build.

Once I pushed her to around 140% ER, suddenly everything smoothed out. Bursts were back on time, rotations felt good, and her total DPS over a fight went way higher.

Why ER is underrated

• Keeps Burst uptime alive → smoother fights.
• More rotations = more real DPS, not just spike damage.
• Even a little ER out-values wasted CRIT or ATK once you’re below the threshold.

I even used buy crystal refreshes to farm ER substats, and yeah it was boring — but worth it. ER isn’t the stat you brag about, but it’s the one that makes your build work.

The balance formula: CRIT + ATK + ER

Everyone wants one winner: “CRIT wins,” “ATK wins,” “ER wins.” Truth is, none of them win alone. Arlecchino only works when you balance them.

My best balanced build so far

• ATK% Sands, Pyro DMG Goblet, CRIT Circlet
• Around 70/140 CRIT ratio (don’t chase perfection)
• ER at least 130–150% depending on team

With this mix, she finally clicked. Her hits felt heavy, her crits actually mattered, and her Burst came back fast enough to keep rotations smooth. Even if you’re free-to-play, this setup is doable over time. If you’re impatient, sure, use Genshin Impact crystal or decide to buy crystal to get there faster.
